They were all pleasant people, professional, neater than most construction workers but not excessively anal, and were very willing to work with us if we changed things a bit. We recently moved into a house in the Redlands area that had lots of promise but a terrible kitchen/living area layout and worn out bathroom vanities. We had a plan drawn up to a new kitchen/living area layout that removed walls and moved a window and glass door. We had difficulty in finding a contractor interested in the project. Fortunately, someone referred us to Trent Mandeville of Sun West Construction. Trent brought in his main contractors to look at the project and was ready to start in 2 weeks. Trent kept the project moving along in a timely mannar and was completed on time. We had a retractable ventilation system behind the island range that was unconventional, but his team was able to install properly. The 3 main contractors were a pleasure to work with, were reliable, and did high quality work. The kitchen has been transformed from a congested, dated, unworkable space into a beautiful functional living area. Trent is easy to work with, keeps in good communication, and coordinates the contractors well. Trent even had the stucco painted after finding that the stucco did not quite match the original. We hired Trent's team to do a complete renovation (kitchen, bathrooms, living and dining room, interior painting and all flooring) of our newly purchased home in the Seasons. We secured three quotes and selected Sun West because of the time and attention he gave to providing a comprehensive quote and the feedback we got from the various vendors we contacted in Grand Junction. He and his team (Willie - tile, Paul - electrician, Joe - plumber, Dan - painter) also impressed us with a strong sense of integrity and professionalism. We were likewise impressed after meeting the cabinet designer, Carla Dalberg, White Wolf Cabinets. This was critical because we were going to be out-of-state during the three-month renovation; we had to trust the person we were giving our key too. Some (well, everybody) thought we were crazy to do this but we trusted our gut. Turns out we were right. Trent kept in constant communication with us throughout the project and consulted us before making any significant decisions. Sun West completed the project on-time and within budget. This was critical because United Van Lines had a hard delivery date. Trent took no shortcuts and there were no unpleasant surprises or upward cost revisions (other than those we decided to make ourselves). The quality of all the work (including our quartz counters) was first-rate. Another shout-out goes to Troy Palmer, Palmer Drywall. Choosing Sun West Construction to build our covered patio and to replace our soffit/facia around the entire house was a wise decision. I called and Trent came out to our house and gave us an estimate for the job the next day. They did an excellent job. Showed up every day at 8 a.m. and cleaned up nice at the end of the day until project was completed. They do quality work and we are extremely happy with the finished product.
